Bhavish Aggarwal’s Ola has officially relaunched its popular carpooling service, ‘Ola Share,’ after a four-year pause due to the Covid-19 pandemic. This move marks a significant comeback for the feature, which users highly valued for its cost-effectiveness and convenience.
The reintroduction of Ola Share was announced during Ola’s annual community event, Sankalp, held on August 15. Aggarwal emphasized the improvements made to the service, stating, “We are bringing back Ola Share for cheaper rides, with lower-cost rides. This time, the experience is much better with an AI-driven algorithm.”
The revamped Ola Share service now incorporates advanced AI-driven algorithms to enhance the user experience, making rides more efficient and cost-effective. This technological upgrade aims to address past challenges and improve the overall carpooling experience for users.
Aggarwal also hinted at future growth, mentioning that Ola plans to expand the service to additional cities soon, catering to a broader audience across India.
Ola’s relaunch of its carpooling service follows similar moves by other ride-sharing companies. Uber recently introduced its Group Rides feature in Delhi, and Rapido launched its carpooling services in Bengaluru, signaling a growing trend in the carpooling market.
