Infosys has finally issued over 1,000 offer letters to campus hires from 2022, ending a delay of over two and a half years. The roles offered are for System Engineers, with the confirmed date of joining set for October 7, 2024. Infosys initially extended these software engineers’ offers in 2022 but faced significant delays in the onboarding process.
Infosys CEO Salil Parekh previously assured that all offers given to freshers would be honored. The company is committed to ensuring that every candidate joins the firm despite the changes in joining dates.
He emphasized, “Every offer that we have given, that offer will be someone who will join the company. We changed some dates, but beyond that, everyone will join Infosys, and there will be no change in that approach.”
Harpreet Singh Saluja, President of the Nascent Information Technology Employees Senate (NITES) ‘s IT employee union, hailed this development as a significant victory.
“These young engineers, who have been waiting for nearly two years, now have a confirmed joining date of October 7, 2024. This is a huge win for NITES and all the students who stood strong in the face of uncertainty and delay,” he stated.
However, Saluja also warned that NITES would closely monitor the situation. “We remain vigilant… if Infosys fails to honor this commitment and breaches the joining date, we will not hesitate to organize a protest right in front of the Infosys office,” he added.
